Renee Bevan is of Cook Island and European descent. She resides in Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland. In 2002 Bevan gained a Bachelor of Visual Arts from The University of Auckland and since then has been included in numerous national and international exhibitions including Schmuck 2008, Munich; Ontkend! (Jewellery Unleashed), The Dudok Exhibit, The Netherlands, 2011; Wunderruma, Galerie Handwerk, Munich, The Dowse, Wellington, Auckland Art Gallery, Auckland, 2014-2015 and The Language of Things, The Dowse, Wellington, 2018.

She is represented in the collections of The Dowse Art Museum, Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa and The Auckland War Memorial Museum. In 2017 Bevan was recipient of the inaugural Blumhardt Foundation Residency.
