Phone Art 2017
Following on from the success of BoardArt, Arts Council Nelson presents … Phone Art - a community art installation project for people of all ages within Nelson & Tasman.
Students, groups & individuals around the region are busy turning old phones into works of art which will be used collectively to create a large public art installation work!
There are no rules, and anyone can take part.
Phones will be installed around the region starting at the Elma Turner Library in Nelson 4th-25th January 2016, after which the installation will move to the Richmond Library for display from 31st January – 14th February, followed by a couple of other venues which are yet to be confirmed. Please keep an eye on our printed arts calendars or see 'What's On' & 'Exhibitions' on this site in the New Year.
WE ARE THRILLED TO ANNOUNCE THAT THERE WILL BE A PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARD DURING THE NELSON DISPLAY.
SO GET IN AND VOTE FOR YOUR FAVOURITE!
Thanks to the generous support of a local business - The creator of the most popular phone creation will win a brand new NEXUS 5X android smart phone!
Plus everyone that votes will be in the draw to win a lucky dip voter Prezzy Card prize!
SO WHY DON'T YOU GET ON BOARD?
If you wish to create your own miniature artwork, please collect an old phone from Arts Council Nelson office, or simply use one of your own.
Finished phones will need to reach Arts Council Nelson by the 22nd December 2016 to be included in the project.
Alternatively, if you do not want to get creative but are able to help in any way - with donations of old devices, or sponsorship/prizes for this project, please contact Arts Council Nelson, or for more information chat with Donna Allfrey: phone 5468868, email: [email protected] or Heidi Lucas: ph 5484640 (Wed/Fri), [email protected]
This project is assisted with funding from Creative Communities Scheme Nelson. Thanks CCS!
