How you can help

Arts Council Nelson Inc is a non-profit organisation with IRD Charitable Status and is registered with the Charities Commission (Reg No: CC33641). The organisation operates on several levels reliant upon service contracts held with Nelson City and Tasman District Councils, creative project funding, sponsorships, donations and last but certainly not least with the hugely valued support from our Friends and Volunteers. We offer a variety of options of how you can help us, which inevitably helps your community. Below are our two main options, but feel free to contact us if you feel you have other abilities or ideas that you think could benefit Arts Council Nelson and our community.

Active Voluntary Involvement

There are several main ways you can become involved with ACN and its' activities.

Apply to be part of the ACN Executive Committee
Which governs the organisation. The Executive meet monthly and the level of commitment varies from member to member. There are optional opportunities for members to take on a variety of portfolios depending on their
area of interest.

Casual project work
Should you simply wish to help out from time to time, there are opportunities to help with many of the projects that we deliver over the year. This activity would be an on demand, on call and where available basis.

Gallery Duties at the Refinery ArtSpace
We have a good team of gallery minders who man the reception area and welcome our many visitors, however we are always keen to add new people to our list! Hours can be arranged to suit individual needs.

One off offers of help
- Do you have special skills or knowledge that would benefit the organisation, but are unable to commit on-going time?

We welcome and are most grateful for any
contribution you may be able to offer.

Donate or Sponsor

Donations - Help the organisation
remain active in the community.
Obviously the more funding it has the
more it can deliver. Donations large or
small can be tagged for specific projects
that you would like to assist or simply
allocated to our general operations.

Acknowledgement would of course be
made as appropriate or alternatively any
contribution could remain anonymous if
preferred.

Sponsorships - Are essential for many
of the events that we initiate and/or
present. Sponsorship can take several
forms from full naming rights of events,
prize sponsorships for competitions
through to simply being an 'event
support sponsor'. We welcome enquiries
and the opportunity to discuss potential
areas of sponsorship with interested
parties.
