RAW - art outside the edge - ARTS COUNCIL NELSON

A showcase of work submitted in response to Arts Council Nelson’s nationwide call to artists who find their artwork just doesn’t seem to fit in with most mainstream galleries, that is a little edgy, naive or perhaps even ‘un-refined’,
Arts Council Nelson was particularly seeking works:

created by people who have no formal or traditional art training
that express individuality and inventiveness
that are ‘RAW’ – uncooked by cultural and artistic influences

ACN appreciate that entering work for a public show like this was a big ask for those that may have never exhibited before, and we thank all contributing artists who have taken this first brave step.
The hugely enjoyable opening function on Friday 11th May was extremely well attended. As of 15th May 42 works have sold... so make sure you get in soon if you haven't viewed the show yet! Please see below just a few selected images...
