We welcome Georgie Merry in our Foyer Gallery with her work 'Submerging Artist'.
A wonderful collection of Limited Edition prints and other trinkets.
Georgie Merry is currently completing her studies at the Learning Connection in Wellington.
In the artist's words...
'Making things allows me to put things out into the world gently.
I feel less pressure communicating through visual art.
I am slowly learning to navigate sadness & frustration in our social and political existence & in the world or close by.
Accepting that life and being valuable, is not about happiness, or being loved by/ loving everyone I meet.
This multi-media collection of works are conversations with myself and reflections of what I see. A commentary on identity, politics, and life in a world where we are constantly reminded that the end is nigh. This collection is inspired by the internet, magazines, commedia dell'arte and political newspaper cartoons.'
To stimulate and strengthen the artistic and cultural life of Nelson Tasman.
