Nelson Fringe Festival Submissions are open from November 1 - January 1.
If you have a show you would like to submit, The Fringe Festival Trust recommends submitting your show(s) as soon as possible as spaces are limited. The festival will run from April 2 8 - May 6 , 2018 at The Refinery Art Space and this year will include Ghostlight Theatre as the venue for workshops.
How to apply
1. Take a look at our ‘Info for Artists’ page on the Nelson Fringe Festival website

2. Complete the appropriate online submission form – ‘Register Your Show’, ‘Register Your
Workshop’ or register for both!
3. Pay the $50 + gst submission fee. Bank account details provided after submission.
4. Take a look at ‘Technical’ and ‘Marketing Specifications’.
5. Connect with us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
6. Communicate with the festival team about Technical requirements and Marketing

Whether you are an advanced singer, looking for a kick start to your 2018 year, or a novice who wants to push themselves slightly past their vocal comfort zone, then the Summer Vocal Intensive is for you. Featuring 5 days of workshops and masterclasses, covering everything from vocal technique, to telling the story in song, to recording studio etiquette and dealing with nerves, this Intensive covers the gamut of issues and situations we face as singers, regardless of what stage we are at in our vocal journey.
Tutors include: Jessica D'Ath, owner of Nelson Vocal Academy and Nelson Theatrix Laura Irish founder and owner of Ghost Light Theatre and Nelson Fringe Festival extraordinaire. Allison Cormack Local Soprano and Vocal Tutor Music Mentors local recording studio and music tutors Stella and Rod, who will be offering recording studio time to a select few participants. Plus more to be announced.
Registrations are limited, so make sure you do it now to avoid missing out!
The Summer Vocal Intensive is a week of workshops, masterclasses and performing opportunities. You can sign up to attend individual classes if you wish, but only those who are enrolled for the whole week as participants (not observers), will be able to take part in the Gala Performance and have access to the very Limited Recording Studio Sessions with Music Mentors.

Masterclasses 1 & 2 = $80 per participant, $40 per observer Masterclasses 3 = $50 per person (no observers)
Workshop 1 = $60 per person Workshop 2 = $40 per person
Full week observer pass (note you cannot attend the acting through song workshop on this pass) = $160 (save $20). Full weeks participators pass + plus perform in Gala Concert = $300 (save $10)
Full weeks participators pass + recording studio session + Perform in Gala Concert = $350 (save $10) All prices include GST. All fees must be paid prior to intensive beginning.
CALLING ALL DRUM KIT PLAYERS
I’m helping the team this year who organise the Big Bang Festival, it is to raise awareness of Fair Trade and is a celebration of drumming and rhythm (link below) held at the top end of Trafalgar Street, in March 2018
We are looking for drummers who may be interested in playing in a drum kit ‘drum off’ solo competition. Please get in touch if you are interested in being involved. Thanks
