AUDITIONS LATE NOTICE AUDITIONS
Mike Lipscombe's new comedy/musical is holding very late auditions this Saturday 30th Sept @ 10.00 am . at Nelson Musical Theatre (beside Founders)
Cast required: all shapes and sizes and include call for singers, dancers, comedians, actors, men and women. Great lead roles for many of the cast.
The show is called A.S.S.O.L. (acronym for A Seamier Side Of Lamb)
Most of the cast are (very mobile) sheep, thereare a few cockies and cockesses involved.
This will be the show's NZ Premiere and if you'd like to be part of it, please join Mike Lipscombe (Director/Musical Director) and Jo Taylor (Choreographer) on Saturday morning, we'd be pleased to see you, experienced or not. This show will be a heap of fun for all cast.
You will need to be able to sing a couple of lines of a song and make character faces to show any versatility you have. A poem (few lines) would do.

Matariki 2018 - Call for Proposals Chamber Music New Zealand
Do you have a group of artists that would like to perform a series of concerts that celebrate Matariki, Māori New Year? Chamber Music New Zealand (CMNZ) is seeking proposals for a series of concerts in June/July 2018. As part of your application the group will need to explain your concept for the performance, the personnel involved, the repertoire that will be performed and any other elements. Past performances have included chamber music, taonga puoro, storytelling, poetry and dance to explore the themes of Matariki. The intention is for performances to be in spaces such as museums and galleries that are accessible to all New Zealanders, and the group of performers should not be too large for practical reasons. T.H.E Dance Company Residency, Singapore
The Asia New Zealand Foundation and Creative New Zealand are calling for applications for a New Zealand choreographer to undertake a residency in Singapore with The Human Expression (T.H.E) Dance Company, or its semi-professional wing, T.H.E Second Company. The residency will take place between May and June 2018. DEADLINE: Applications must reach the Asia New Zealand Foundation office no later than 12pm Monday 23 October 2017. Register now for NZ Fringe Festival 2018!
Registrations are open now and being accepted until 10 October 2017. As an open-access uncensored festival absolutely anything goes! Going into its 28th year the NZ Fringe will run 2-24 March 2018. From kids shows to late night cabaret, or outdoors to one-on-one performance, art of all kinds is welcome in Fringe. Fringe encourages participants to take creative risks and test their new ideas. It includes contemporary work in all genres including (but never limited to) audio, busking, cabaret, clowning, comedy, circus, dance, film, fashion, improvisation, music, online, physical theatre, podcast, poetry, puppetry, spoken word/storytelling, theatre, visual and digital art. As a non-programmed festival, it means anyone at all can enter. As long as it's (basically) legal and you pay your registration fee, you're in!
