JUNIOR ARTIST FOR A WEEK (5 day holiday art program)*
15 - 19th January and/or 22 - 26th January 2018
FEE $250/week
Maximum 8 students
Materials and an old T-shirt to protect clothing provided.
The fantastical tea party - students will create works that if they wish will be exhibited in Light Nelson 2018. Using Larisse's stunning studio gardens and the space ship that recently parked in her carport as inspiration. Students will combine observational skills with imagination to draw, print, paint and make 3-D art.

Indulge and extend your child’s creativity with Artist Larisse Hall.
Classes are limited to a maximum of 8 students to ensure and encourage the development of individual style,
in a fun and creative exploration of art. Classes are varied, exploring drawing, painting and printing through
to carving and sculpture. Skills such as composition, tone, form, perspective and use of colour will be fostered, enhancing creative development and confidence! An exciting artistic learning experience!
Please note that classes will include a project for Light Nelson 2018
YOUTH ART CLASSES*
11 - 15 years youth art classes, Wednesdays 3.30pm - 4.30pm
$10 / Session, Charged by the number of weeks per school term.

These art classes focus on the development of individual style, encouraging creative thinking, in a relaxed
and fun environment. Individuals will work on a series in their chosen style and media. Technique & theme will be developed in accordance with this. Developing their own style, students will have the whole term to create a body of work (which for some may be 3 pieces and others 15). With hands on demonstrations and examples, skills such as composition, tone, form, perspective and use of colour will be fostered, enabling creative development and confidence!
Please note that classes may include a project to be included in Light Nelson 2018 - this is optional

Adult Classes with Larisse Hall
ARTIST FOR A FEW DAYS! (3 Day Workshop for Beginners plus...)*
Tuesday 30th January - 1st February 2018 9am - 3.30pm
Maximum 8 students. FEE $180
Basic art materials supplied (You are welcome to bring your own art supplies). Painting supports / canvases and Brushes to be supplied by students
Using the garden as inspiration, students will use observational skills to compose and complete the painting of their choice. (Students may work on their own subject matter if preferred)
PAINTING ENCOURAGED! (for Beginners plus... ) (Thursdays 9.30am - 12pm)*
6 week sessions. (8th March - 5th April, 3rd May - 7th June, 23rd August - 27th Sept and 8th Nov - 13th Dec 2018) Maximum 8 students. FEE $138 for 6 weeks

Painting supports / canvases to be supplied by student (Larisse will advise)
This class will focus on your individual needs as an artist... unleashing the creative within you and encouraging the development of your art in a supportive, fun and creative environment. Larisse will guide you through the steps of painting from start to finish.
Larisse will demystify the art of 'starting' a painting, continuing with how to compose your subject using the traditional techniques of drawing, composition and tonal studies. Subject matter will be supplied, as well as the option of continuing in your own theme, with your own subject if desired.
Lessons will be formatted to suit the progress of the class and individuals alike. Exploring perspective, paint application and various colour mixing techniques this will allow artists to progress at their individual pace whilst developing their artistic repertoire. Upon completion of your painting, Larisse will demonstrate the differing hanging systems available and how to 'label' your work professionally (ready for exhibiting!).
Encouraging artists to pursue and develop their painting as suits them in the relaxed environment of her art studio. ALL ART CLASSES ARE HELD IN LARISSE"S GARDEN ART STUDIO, STOKE, NELSON

For those of you interested in all things Textiles in the lovely city of Nelson
July 2018 sees the Nelson Embroiderers’ Guild hosting the National Embroidery School, the National Embroidery Exhibition and the ANZEG biennial conference. These events are held every two years and are the largest gathering of embroiderers and textile artists in New Zealand.
The week includes outstanding exhibitons, special interest group meetings, a Merchant’s Mall, lectures and workshops.
