'From the inside to the outside and back again'
The focus of this workshop will be two-fold. Firstly, through exploring aspects of drawing and the graphic experience gleaned from observing the unique landscape, environment, its history as well as from the personal object. Secondly, these drawings serve as a rehearsal for producing no less than two idea / compositions that will then be extended through a range of colour application, glazing and acrylic painting techniques.
This workshop aims to encourage and nurture the individuals’ vision to determine the style of the work created.

Nightingale Knitters Nightingale Library Memorial 2 Beach Road, Tahunanui. Come along for a cup of tea or coffee and some good company. The Nightingale Knitters meet at 1:30 pm every Monday to create garments for charity organisations across the community. Experience at knitting not needed, just a willingness to give it a go.

Richmond Library: Good Crafternoon!

Join us at Richmond Library for an hour and a half of crafting. It’s a great opportunity to finish a project, or start a new one, and spend some enjoyable time with other crafters.
Bring along your craft project – knitting, hand sewing, mending, crochet, drawing, scrap-booking, or whatever half-finished, almost-started project you like – and work on it with other crafters at the library. Free, but you need to bring all your own materials and craft supplies. Bring your lunch or grab something from the Library Café. All welcome. Bookings not required. Family Friendly Free

JACKY PEARSON’S 2 DAY WATERCOLOUR PAINTING WORKSHOP 9-10 MARCH $180
Well known and highly regarded Jacky Pearson will demonstrate techniques step by step, and give
you plenty of time to practice. On Day One you will paint a simple landscape with cumulus clouds,
and on Day Two, a figure from supplied photographs. Each morning there will be build up
exercises: drawing, tonal and colour mixing, to allow everyone to fully understand the subject
matter. This workshop suits beginners to experienced.

The event will be held in Collingwood, Golden Bay with 6 courses on Saturday 13th & Sunday 14th April AND 4 courses on Tuesday 16th & Wednesday 17th April 2018.

We have two brand new tutors/weaving workshops and four talented Golden Bay weavers.
We are incredibly fortunate to have enticed fabulous Australian weaver Ann McMahon to teach some really wild creations and also Jasmine Clarke from Arrowtown, NZ who will work with copper to create some fabulous pieces with you.

This year we will be hosting a specially created Basketry Exhibition at the Art Vault in Takaka, from 14th-2tth April. The opening will be on Friday 13th at 5pm, so come along and be inspired! The exceptional Wholemeal Cafe in Takaka will be hosting us for our course evening meal on Saturday 13th.
