Dear Artists,

The Nelson Women's Centre is pleased to announce 'Invincible', a fundraising, cash-and-carry style art exhibition planned for September, the 130th anniversary of women's suffrage in NZ . Thank you so much for those of you who have expressed an interest in supporting the Nelson Women's Centre with your kind offers of art donations.  If this is the first time you have heard of the fundraising exhibition it's not too late to donate work. You can donate an artwork outright or via a 50/50 split with the Centre. All donations of artwork will be greatly appreciated and all funds raised will go directly to the Nelson Women's Centre. 

Next Steps Required:

By Monday September 11:     Fill out the online entry form here. 
By Thursday September 14:  Bring your works clearly labeled to the Refinery Art Space in Hardy St between 10 am and 5 pm
On Monday 18 September ('Suffrage Eve') at 5.30 at Refinery ArtSpace:  You are warmly invited to the Opening Party. 
By Saturday October 7:  You will be contacted regarding unsold work
Collect unsold work from Monday October 9  - 14th at the Refinery between 10 am and 5 pm:  .
By October 31:  those taking commission will be notified of their payment 
By November 20:  those taking commission will receive payment  
In principle there is no selection process.  If you are worried about presentation, suitability of theme, etc.  please send a photo with your query to art130@nelsonwc.org.nz.   

​ There is also no size specification, as long as it can get in the door (and the buyer can take it out of the door).

 Your name as the artist, title of work, medium, price  must be clearly labelled on the back of the work. 
All work must arrive ready for hanging, should your entry need an unusual install, we would appreciate receiving any specific instructions and inclusion of any extra fittings/requirements. Every effort will be made to install selected works to their best advantage. 

All packaging materials (if any) must be clearly named for use when returning work as appropriate.

If you haven't yet expressed your interest it's not too late to donate...just follow the instructions above by September 11.

Nelson Women's Centre Te Whare Āwhina Mō Ngā Wāhine Puawai - a supportive place where all women can flourish. 
We are a supportive place for all women and non-binary people in the heart of Nelson, New Zealand. 
We are a community and support centre open for you to drop in, spend some time or simply reach out to for services such as social worker support, advocacy, information on women's rights and low-cost counselling. We also have an Op Shop with a variety of women's and children's clothes.   
We also run workshops, host regular and occasional groups and have rooms available to rent at low cost.
NWC is a non-profit organisation that relies on external funding to support women - help us to help you!
