How to Exhibit

REFINERY ARTSPACE

Refinery ArtSpace is programmed a year in advance. The callout for submissions of proposals for exhibitions and events is usually put out in November and is open until February for exhibitions starting in July. Proposals are considered by the Refinery ArtSpace Program Selection Panel, which is appointed by Arts Council Nelson.

However we are moving! 114 Hardy St has been our temporary home for nearly six years and we have loved every minute of it. So much Wairua and Aroha has been infused into this space.

Refinery Artspace will have a new home (and possibly a new name) in the Arts Hub currently in development at Miller’s Acre. We have hit pause on our call out until April while some of the finer details are worked through. To stay informed sign up to our newsletter or follow our social media channels.

PROPOSALS

The Refinery ArtSpace welcomes proposals from individuals and groups from all creative fields locally and nationally including:

Community arts and cultural groups;

  • Established, new and emerging practitioners, including students and recent graduates;

  • Proposals from other national galleries with a similar focus;

  • Curatorial practitioners and curatorial programmes, locally and nationally;

Although we only consider proposals once a year we recognise the forward planning required for many proposals and curatorial programmes. You are welcome to contact Janja Heathfield who is the Refinery ArtSpace Director with enquiries.
